Its been a great learning curve and I’m proud of Sindustries simple beginnings and that I’ve managed to keep Sindustries.co.uk going for so long.

I can remember setting up wamp for the first time and installing wordpress designing “version 1.0″ and launching that which was rather fun. Then I decided It was time for a re-design (The theme your viewing right now.) again another barrel of laughs but I noticed that things I done in first version has effected this version and because of this Sindustries.co.uk is getting another major overhaul!

Yeah, in one year three different revisions all part of the learning process and in Sindustries 3.0 there is a definite improvement in design and mark-up.

I bet you would love some stats, wouldn’t you?

Since launching sindustries.co.uk web site its had: -

10,407 Page Views.

2,763 Absolute Unique Visitors.

Most of my traffic comes from referring sites & search engines.

Some people might say this “OMGZ I HAZ 10K IN ONEZ DAYS B4 LOLOL!!!!11!!1!1!1!” and my response to this is simply that I setup Sindustries.co.uk to learn, not to get popular its my pet project that I work on however as time goes on I have realized that I have enjoyed blogging as much as learning and with Sindustries 3.0 blogging is going to have a much bigger focus.

I recently just finished playing Assassins Creed 2 which is freaking amazing.

Oh and I’ve been working again like a trooper with wordpress theme frameworks….

Again I’ve fired up WAMP  which by the way is a freaking awesome local server and I’ve been having a play around with wordpress theme frame works. Sindustries.co.uk is again feeling the moans and groans of having to deal with so many different types of content and media and the current theme just isn’t capable of handling…

I’m thinking of making a good theme that can handle image, video, “quotes”, text and any other type of media I can through at it and display it neat across the board the current theme just well flops and the fact it isn’t really “quick and easy for me to come up with a post some times all I want to do is post an image thats it and not have the headings or any links just the image but this is something I will solve on my tod.

One thing I am going to do is integrate wordpress posts into my portfolio so it will be extremely easily for me to add new projects :/ slideshow as a portfolio really ain’t that good looking.

Expect a new look and more site flexibility soon.

Back to PS3ness… I’ve managed to hook it up to the net you can add me to your friends list “Sindustries” is my tag on the PS3 network.

O.k. it has certainly been a while but again a lot has been going in my life mainly the most important thing… I’ve recently passed my job probation, AWESOME!!

AND AND I’m now living in Edinburgh yay!

I’ve also went and got myself a little flat in Leith awesome dude!  Moved in a couple of weeks ago and I’m still unpacking stuff, moving boxes around and getting rid of boxes ah well these things happen. This year really has been a freaking whirlwind for myself and the people close to me. Its been full of ups and “OMFG’s >.<” and to tell the truth I am looking forward to the end of 2009 and I’m already looking forward to being able to say “20-10″. Oh well a new year a change of life style and a new place of work sounds great.

I’ve also been working a few posts and now that I have free time I’m going to get them out asap. Due things going on in my personal life I haven’t really been posting as much as I should have but anyway expect more posts of quality content, yummy, oh! and expect some videos am working on a few little things that are really coming together and should be with you lot soon.

I would like to say though to everyone enjoy the Christmas period have yourself a merry little Christmas and a happy new year!

The “Scottish Web Designers, Graphic Designers, Developers & Agencies You Should Be Following on Twitter” list went down a absolute storm and I got my first taste of the twitter effect. As well as creating a list of designers and agencies I discovered a lot more Scottish designers and a lot more agencies that I didn’t know about.

Now recently I attended the future of web design tour in Glasgow. Then two days after the future of web design event I was on a plane and off to Las Vegas

The future of web design tour was pretty interesting I learned a lot and the networking was a good laugh but I think the event turned out to be more for developers than designers but overall it was good.

Then I was off to Las Vegas and I was staying in the Stratosphere hotel a little off the strip but it was amazing. I pretty much went and seen all the big hotels but my favourites were the MGM Grand and Caesars Palace in the MGM I even got to hold a lion cub!

Yeah its was pretty awesome expect some pictures from that and separate post, I done way to much to write about here.

Since then I’ve been back at work through in Edinburgh and that has also been great.

Oh I’ve also been working a lot with adobe after effects I have a video intro made and I’m just getting a video ready so stay tuned!

Now, the first biggest event that happened to me recently was that my role as a web designer was  being made redundant from Scottish & Universal Newspapers. I was pretty gob smacked at the fact it was my first stepping stone in my career and I was facing redundancy.

I will admit after the shock was over I was pretty nervous in the fact again I’d have to find a job however after some training from S&UN in regards to self-marketing and job hunting this was a huge help.

Began job hunting as soon as I left and I heard nothing back for ages, then three weeks later I received a phone call for an interview with a company, I was pretty nervous however I was astounded by the level of professionalism and how well friendly they were.

Then I got a phone call with the job offer, I was over the moon!  I start on Monday (31st) and the company is based in Edinburgh. I am so lucky for this opportunity considering we are in a economic downturn and jobs are few and hard to come by.

Enough about me, Sindustries is now full of awesome, yeah that’s right awesome.

Now the site is up and running and is looking good expect more design related posts and well… more posts I found the last design was such a hassle it stopped me from posting as much but nothing is going to hold this little web designer back from now on!

The Future of Web Design Tour is coming to Glasgow on the 14th of September and yes I will be there with I can’t wait to see Scottish web designers, developers and other folk all talking face to face none of this talking to an avatar mince person to person interaction its always the best way. I’m looking forward to learning more about siliverlight and Adobe Air however the event as a whole will be good. I’m going take along my digital camera take some pictures from the event and new business cards.

Just thought I’d let you all know the re-design is coming along very well and its soon going to be put live!

The sidebars are currently on over-drive on the wacky factor please bear with me on that I’m just shuffling them in a different order and in the new theme there all OK dokie.

All that I need to do now is simple: -

• Do some cross browser testing
• Fix up my Portfolio Page
• Fine tune some elements

Then it will be time to hit the button!

Now Sindustries is doing very well currently but I want the site to be more well …. me!

I want to show you that I am a professional web designer that can design AND code like nothing you have ever seen before!

The new site is going to be more portfolio and project focused as well as maintaining good/funny design aesthetics, this time round the site will be CSS & XHTML Valid it will be IE6 99.99% bug free from the very beginning .

Now here’s a run down of all the website features I plan on implementing: -
